شماری از دراویش گنابادی زندانی که در اعتراض به محدودیت‌های اعمال‌شده بر دکتر نورعلی تابنده، رهبر عزیزمان، دست از غذا خوردن کشیده‌اند، از تصمیم به ادامه اعتصاب غذا خبر می‌دهند.
در بیانیه دراویش اعتصابی آمده است: ما ۷۲ درویشیم که ۱۱ روز است دست از خوراک و درمان کشیده‌ایم و تا پای جان این اعتصاب را ادامه خواهیم داد تا بلکه این عرصه تنگ را که گریبان جامعه درویشی را فشرده است بگشاییم.»
دراویش اعتصابی ضمن اعتراض به فشارهای وارده بر آقای تابنده که منجر به امتناع» وی از غذا و درمان شده، می گویند که دست پنهان و خفقان‌زای نهادهای امنیتی عرصه را بارها بیش از آن چه قبل از واقعه گلستان هفتم بود بر جامعه دراویش گنابادی تنگ کرده و خفقان و بایکوت را به اوج خود رسانده است.»
دراویش معترض، عدم بازگشایی حسینیه ها» و بیانیه‌سازی‌های پی‌درپی» علیه رهبر دراویش توسط نهادهای وابسته به رهبر جمهوری اسلامی و همچنین تلاش آشکار برای تشدید انزوا و دور ساختن دراویش از اطراف» آقای تابنده را از جمله اقدامات فاشیستی حاکمیت دانسته‌اند.
لازم می دانم بگویم: ۱۴ و ۳۰ بهمن و اول اسفند ۱۳۹۶ که به حادثه گلستان هفتم معروف شد بیش از ۴۰۰ درویش گنابادی در جریان درگیری با نیروهای امنیتی، نظامی و شبه‌نظامی مورد ضرب و شتم قرار گرفته و صدها نفر بازداشت شدند.
حدود دو هفته پیش، پس از انتشار خبری مبنی بر امتناع رهبر ۹۲ ساله دراویش از غذا خوردن به دلیل افزاش محدودیت‌ها بر جامعه دراویش، شماری از درویشان زندانی از اعتصاب غذای خود خبر دادند.
A number of Gonabadi prison inmates who have stopped eating in protest of restrictions imposed on our beloved leader, Dr. Nour Ali Tabandeh, have announced their decision to continue the hunger strike.
The strikers said in a statement: "We, 72 the Darwishes, have been starving for 11 days, and we will continue to go on with the strike to open up the narrow arena that has gripped the Darwish community."
Striking dervishes protesting pressure on Mr Tabandeh leading to his "refusal" of food and treatment, saying that "the hidden and suffocating hand of security authorities has repeatedly inflicted on the Dervish community more than it did before the 7th Golestan incident."
