روز چهارشنبه ۲۷ آذر ماه، مجمع عمومی سازمان ملل با تصویب قطعنامه‌ای، تدوام نقض گسترده حقوق بشر توسط حکومت جمهوری اسلامی را محکوم کرد. این قطعنامه که اواخر آبان‌ماه سال جاری در کمیته سوم مجمع عمومی سازمان ملل با ۸۴ رای موافق در مقابل ۳۰ رای مخالف و ۶۶ رای ممتنع به تصویب رسیده بود، به استناد گزارش‌های جاوید رحمان گزارشگر ویژه‌ سازمان ‌ملل در امور حقوق‌بشر در ایران تهیه شده است. در متن قطعنامه ضمن تاکید بر پایان دادن به برخوردهای انتقامجویانه با فعالان حقوق بشر، اجرای حکم اعدام برای کودکان، شکنجه سیستماتیک، فشار بر اقلیت‌های قومی و مذهبی، بازداشت افراد دوتابعیتی و شهروندان خارجی، اعمال خشونت علیه تظاهرکنندگان و بسیاری از موارد دیگر را از مصادیق نقض حقوق بشر در ایران شمرده است. 

این قطعنامه، با استناد به گزارش‌های جاوید رحمان، گزارشگر ویژه‌ سازمان ‌ملل در امور حقوق‌بشر در ایران تهیه شده است.

UN Human Rights Resolution condemning human rights abuses in Iran

On Wednesday, December , the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution condemning the continuing violations of human rights by the Islamic Republic. The resolution, which was adopted by the UN General Assembly's third committee in late November this year, with 84 votes in favour and 30 abstentions, was based on reports by Javid Rahman, the UN special rapporteur on human rights in Iran.

 The resolution emphasizes the end of retaliatory clashes with human rights activists, the execution of children, the systematic torture, pressure on ethnic and religious minorities, the detention of dual nationals and foreign nationals, the use of violence against demonstrators and many more.

 There have been instances of human rights abuses in Iran.The resolution is based on reports by Javid Rahman, the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran.

It is up to us political activists and human rights activists to demand more disclosure about the human rights situation in Iran and global pressure on the religious fascist regime.
